Stitch Tracker privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

In short: the app collects nothing about you. Everything you enter stays on your own phone. Stitch Tracker has no internet access, so technically it cannot send anything anywhere — not even by accident. The only thing you leave anywhere is your email address, if you sign up on this website for an iPhone version; more on that below.

Who is responsible?

Stitch Tracker is made and published by Victoria Zondervan. Questions about this policy or about the app can go to support@stitchtracker.nl.

What data is in the app?

Whatever you put in it yourself. That may include:

  • your projects, with name, type, dates, sizes and notes
  • photos of your work that you add yourself
  • patterns as a PDF, an image or a link
  • details about yarn and your needle stash

No account is created, and you are never asked for your name, email address or any other personal data.

Where does that data stay?

Only in the storage of your own device, in an area that is accessible to Stitch Tracker alone. Other apps cannot reach it.

The app does not request internet permission. That means it cannot make a connection to the internet, and so it cannot send anything to its maker or to anyone else. There is no server, no cloud and no login.

Photos and files

When you add a photo or a PDF, you choose it yourself through the Android picker. The app is only given access to what you point at — not to the rest of your photo library. The chosen file is copied into the app's own storage so that it stays available with your project.

Links to patterns

If you save a pattern as a link, the app opens that link in your own browser. From that moment on, the terms and privacy policy of that website apply; Stitch Tracker has no influence there and cannot see what you do.

The Contact and Website buttons

The gear menu has two buttons that open something outside the app. Contact opens your own mail app with a blank message to support@stitchtracker.nl, with the app's version number already in the subject line; whether you send it is up to you. Website opens stitchtracker.nl in your own browser. In both cases the app makes no connection itself — it hands the request to another app on your device, just as it does for a pattern you saved as a link.

If you do email me, I see your email address and what you write, just as with any other email. I keep it no longer than I need to in order to answer your question.

Backups

You can make a backup yourself through Settings → Export. You choose where the file ends up — in your downloads folder, for instance, or in a cloud service. As soon as you put the file somewhere, the rules of that place apply. The app never sends a backup anywhere on its own.

Android itself may also include app data in the system backup to your own Google account. That is a feature of Android, not of Stitch Tracker. You can switch it off in your device settings, under the backup settings.

The waiting list for an iPhone version

On this website you can leave your email address if you want to hear when there is a version for the iPhone. That is entirely separate from the app: the app knows nothing about it and still sends nothing.

What I then have is your email address, and whether you filled in the Dutch or the English form. I use it for one thing: sending you that one message. No newsletter, no other post, and I pass it on to no one.

Sign-ups arrive at Netlify, the company that keeps this website online for me. They stay there until I remove them. Once it is clear whether that iPhone version is coming and everyone has had their message, I throw the list away. Want off sooner? Email support@stitchtracker.nl and I will take you off straight away.

What does not happen

  • no ads
  • no analytics or tracking software
  • no usage statistics
  • no sharing with third parties
  • no profiling or automated decision-making

Children

Stitch Tracker is not aimed at children, and deliberately collects no data from anyone, whatever their age.

Your rights

Because no data reaches the maker, there is nothing to access, correct or have deleted. You keep full control yourself: your data is on your device, and when you delete the app it goes with it. So make a backup first if you want to keep it.

Changes

If something about the app changes so that this policy no longer holds, this page is updated and the date at the top is changed.
